Several improvements over generic brands including use of the R828S tuner, improved component tolerances, a 1 PPM temperature compensated oscillator (TCXO), SMA F connector, aluminium case with passive cooling, bias tee circuit, improved power supply, and built in HF up-converter.

The new V4L (Lite) design is very similar to the previous V4 model, but instead of the R828D tuner chip it uses the R828S chip. The difference is that the input is only diplexed between HF and UHF/VHF, versus the triplexed input on the V4. This means there is one less branch for input filtering (hence the 'lite' designator). The advantage is better sensitivity.

NOTE: This is the newer V4L (Lite) design, and it requires updating to the latest drivers to work.

Before purchasing, please ensure that you understand that not all applications work with the Blog V4L yet! Compatibility with most popular software is okay, but some niche programs and macOS/Android will lag with support. Please consult the V4L user's guide for more information on updating the drivers.
