Proxmark5 Iceman Edition is the latest-generation open-source professional tri-band RF research platform developed by RFID Research Group, fully upgraded from the classic Proxmark3 RDV4. Designed for academic research, RF protocol analysis, authorised hardware security testing and RFID equipment compatibility verification, this device provides full-band RF coverage, upgraded processing performance and built-in wireless functions for professional laboratory and engineering use.
Compared with the previous Proxmark3 series, Proxmark5 brings comprehensive hardware upgrades including a higher-performance main MCU, upgraded GOWIN FPGA chip, 10-bit high-precision ADC sampling system, and native WiFi + BLE wireless modules. It supports adjustable wide-range LF frequencies, full HF NFC band and complete UHF industrial band coverage, delivering more accurate signal collection, more stable protocol analysis and stronger expandability for professional RF experimental work.
Powerful Hardware Configuration
Equipped with AT32F435 288MHz high-speed main controller and GOWIN FPGA logic processor, the device supports multi-task parallel processing and real-time RF signal decoding. The upgraded 10-bit ADC greatly improves sampling accuracy, allowing the device to capture weak, distorted and low-quality RF signal data that traditional devices cannot identify. Built-in WiFi and BLE modules support wireless offline operation, remote experimental control and data transmission without wired PC connection.
Full Tri-Band RF Coverage
Proxmark5 supports adjustable LF low frequency range from 125kHz to 500kHz, covering all common and extended low-frequency RF tags. It fully supports 13.56MHz HF NFC protocols including MIFARE, NTAG and EM series. The UHF band covers 860MHz–960MHz for industrial EPC Gen2 tag analysis and compatibility testing. The adjustable antenna voltage design ensures stable signal performance under complex electromagnetic interference environments.
Upgraded Expandable Design
The device features dual USB-C ports for multi-scene connection. The main Client port provides stable data transmission and power supply, while the CEP expansion port supports Host/Slave mode switching and direct linkage with Flipper Zero for joint multi-device RF testing. The industrial XT30 quick-swap antenna interface allows fast replacement of LF, HF and UHF antennas. The reserved 2.54mm expansion header supports secondary development, external module access and custom function expansion for professional engineers.
Open-Source Ecosystem & Compatibility
Proxmark5 is fully compatible with the official Iceman open-source firmware and community toolchains. It supports continuous firmware updates, custom script development and long-term iterative optimisation. With complete open-source hardware resources and active global community support, it is the preferred professional research tool for RF engineers, security researchers and technology enthusiasts worldwide.
Application Scenarios
Professional laboratory RF academic research, authorised enterprise hardware security testing, RFID reader/writer compatibility verification, industrial UHF tag research, electronic circuit development and open-source technology experimental learning.
